Food Wars is a technical demo of video game development in Unity. We created a local multiplayer experience using a mix of 3D assets and 2D characters with the intent of making something fun and casual, with a funny style, and high-quality visuals.
The game is presented in an aerial view, where up to two players can take control of a food character. The characters face each other in an arena divided in half by a barrier they cannot cross, and must cause damage to each other from a distance.
The characters are 2D and animated with a bone-based technique and high-resolution sprites. They are coded to play different animations such as idle, walk cycle, and death.
